Ekjut
brings to you
the magical performance of Radhika Rajpal - a leading Odissi exponent
from India. Come watch the Middle-Eastern Sufi poetry of Rumi coming
alive with the Indian classical dance of Radhika, as she weaves an
enchanting tapestry of graceful movements and soulful verse. For
the uninitiated, Radhika explains the Odissi dance movements as she
goes along, making this an excellent introductory workshop on Indian
Classical Dance.
The
Artiste: Radhika has been training in Bharat Natyam with several renowned
gurus since the age of 6. She gave her first public performance at
the age of 13, and has since performed extensively at major festivals
and conferences in both India & abroad. Captivated with the graceful
style of Odissi dance, she started training under Guru Ramani Ranjan
Jena and the great maestro late Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra. Her style
reflects her learnings from both her teachers while having that extra
quality of spiritual meditativeness.
This
concert is being organized as a fundraiser for Ekjut's childcare
rehabilitation & rural healthcare projects in
India. By participating in this event, you are being the change you wish
to see in the world...
