And for the few of us who've had the opportunity to see a better way of life, maybe in the U.S., Canada, Europe, or some other place...things seem to be so much more out of place and almost chaotic back in India! So for those of you not wanting to be just ‘mock spectators’ anymore...for those of you looking at more than just donating some of your dollars....those who cannot ignore a poor patient languishing in a hospital for want of treatment but has no money to pay for it...those who cannot simply ignore a beggar on the streets but don't want to give him a few rupees either...those whose heart still goes out to the children wandering aimlessly on the streets, the bus stations and the railway platforms, with no one to care for them, teach them right or wrong, help them stand up on their feet...and those who have a vision of how India should be, and have the passion to work towards it, but often felt 'tiny and insignificant' when confronted with the monstrous problems facing India...come become 'Ek (one) with 'Ekjut' and see your efforts transform the lives of our fellow people... In order to effectively manage the various social projects being supported in India by Ekjut, the fundraising efforts, and other organizational activities, we are always looking for socially aware and enterprising individuals. Whether you're a student, a working professional, or a housewife, if you'd like to brainstorm, research, prioritize and manage the various social projects being supported in India, help in fundraising efforts, or help us in the numerous other activities that go into running any successful organization, come join hands with us. For
all of us who’ve grown up in India, our minds have often drifted to
the despicable state of affairs in our country. Corruption, insensitivity,
inadequate infrastructure, government apathy, lack of ethical investigative
journalism, and a host of other issues have plagued our society for
long. And a lot of times we’ve felt this burning desire inside of us
to do something…fight back against the corruption, raise our voices
against the insensitivity and apathy, lend a helping hand to those less
fortunate than us, or help someone stand up on their feet...but for
lack of a proper and credible channel, we’ve often been left to just
'wishing' things would be better…
